The Roof Is on Fire

Sage Has Reopened, and, Even More Importantly, So Has Its Rooftop Bar

This is good news.

Sage's rooftop bar.

The rooftop bar at downtown Sarasota's Sage was shuttered back in June 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but it's officially back as of this week. The restaurant has reopened the space, while at the same time opening the doors again to the main restaurant, which had been closed for a month-long hiatus.

Sage.

This is good news. The Sage rooftop is one of the best spots in Sarasota to meet up for a drink, with beautiful vistas of downtown Sarasota, particularly around sunset. (It helps that the cocktails are excellent, too.)

Meanwhile, inside the restaurant, Sage executive chef and co-owner Christopher Covelli and his staff have rolled out a new fall menu, with items like smoked scallops with a green garbanzo hummus and crispy shallots and roasted duck with a red miso and port wine reduction and baby bok choy.

Sage is located at 1216 First St., Sarasota, and is open 5-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more info, call (941) 445-5660 or visit the restaurant's website.
