Pro tip: If you're headed to the Hob Nob, ask for the Kahlua milkshake. It's not on the menu, and it's only available for a limited time, but it's worth requesting: made with Kahlua and Bailey's Irish Cream, this is a cold, creamy drink that's super-refreshing on a hot day. 

At downtown's new The Coolinary, the food lives up to the name--we particularly loved the pan-seared shrimp, which features fresh Gulf shrimp sauteed in a garlic and parsley sauce, served in a hot skillet with a toasted baguette ($16). We'd eat this every night if we could.

Here's a recipe for a great lunch: Head to Jack Dusty at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, ask for a seat on the patio, then order a lobster roll (which is served on a fresh brioche roll with chives, lots of butter and a side of house-made potato chips) and enjoy the warm breeze and great view.

Alpine Steakhouse serves up a seriously good egg sandwich at the downtown farmer's market on Saturday mornings. It comes on a fresh roll and the whole thing is cooked up right in front of you; we like ours with cheese and bacon. Grab a bunch of napkins (that cheese gets melty) and then eat it at one of the nearby tables and enjoy the people watching.

For a treat that tastes indulgent but that's totally healthy, head to CROP Juice and order its new Great Pumpkin smoothie ($12). It's a blend of almond milk, pumpkin, pumpkin purée, cashew butter, banana, gluten free oats and dates, which means it's also dairy-free and sugar-free--although you'd never know it. Available for a limited time at all CROP locations.
