Banyan Pediatric Care Centers, a provider of prescribed pediatric extended care (PPEC) services, is now open at 3251 17th St., Ste. 200, in Sarasota. Banyan provides skilled nursing for special needs children ages birth to 21 in a childcare setting. Banyan provides on-site physical and occupational developmental therapies in addition to speech, gross motor, fine-motor sensory and behavioral therapies that are conducted in a nurturing, educationally based environment. Any child who has a medical condition that requires skilled nursing and/or monitoring services may be eligible.

Sarasota’s facility is Banyan’s second site for PPEC services. The organization’s flagship location in St. Petersburg, acquired in May 2020, has been in operation since 2011 and continues to support and serve families with special needs children throughout west central Florida.
