Photographer Damon Powers decided to take a trip up to Anna Maria Island this week to see how construction on the City Pier is coming along. "It's looking really good so far!" Powers says, estimating that the walkway is about 90 percent done. Next up is fixing the building at the end of the pier and turning it into a restaurant. Once everything is completed, the pier could be open by fall 2026, bringing a return to one of the island's most treasured—and oldest—attractions.
