"It’s been two years since the 2024 hurricanes reopened Midnight Pass, so I decided to give it a visit this week to see how it was holding up," says photographer Damon Powers. 

"I’m happy to report that it looks to be doing well!" he continues. "The water quality in the bay also appeared to have vastly improved, now that the pass is allowing the bay to naturally flush with the tides. I saw several boats making their way through the pass, along with plenty of kayakers out enjoying it."
