MISSION: We provide a unique opportunity for low-income and at-risk students, many from minority families, to escape the cycle of poverty through education and our mentoring-focused scholarship program.

Take Stock in Children (TSIC) of Sarasota County is one of 45 Florida affiliates working to break the cycle of poverty through a scholarship program based on the principle that given extensive support, motivation and accountability, students will work hard to ensure that they graduate from high school and attain a college degree. In Sarasota, students in grades 6th-9th are selected based upon financial need, academic achievement, and good character. We provide our TSIC scholars with a caring volunteer Mentor, a College Success Coach, a Florida Prepaid college tuition scholarship upon high school graduation and hope for a better life. Private scholarship donations are matched dollar for dollar by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation. We are grateful for our many loyal donors and community partners.
