Pam Daniel

The staff was using typewriters and Sarasota was called Clubhouse when editorial director Pam Daniel first signed on. Since then, she’s not only made the switch to computers (though the IT people might question that) but helped steer the magazine through major expansion and shelves full of awards. Still excited by the city and its never-ending stories, she loves how the digital universe has expanded Sarasota’s reach. A nature lover and thrift-store addict, she has a cute Siesta cottage filled with way too many finds, and by the time he was 5 had trained her grandson Alan to bargain at yard sales. (His biggest scores? A stuffed owl for $8 and a vintage clock radio—it works!—for a dime.)
