Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation Raises More Than $1.9 Million at Hospital Gala

Plus, the Women's Resource Center receives a $425,000 grant, and more.

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation raised net proceeds of more than $1.9 million at this year's Hospital Gala. 

The Women’s Resource Center recently received a $425,000 grant from the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation to advance its Transforming Operations and Outcomes Through Sustainable Systems initiative. The grant includes an initial $375,000 investment and an additional $50,000 to be awarded through a matching opportunity.

The Academy at Bradenton received a $75,000 grant from the Bishop-Parker Foundation that will support will enable the academy's ability to respond to the needs of young adults living with serious mental illness.

The Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation received a $7,500 capacity building grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.

Second Heart Homes has received a $15,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities.

Coastal Orthopedics and the Bradenton Runners Club recently presented $17,125 to be shared between two local nonprofits: Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee and Turning Points Manatee. The funds were raised through donations collected at the club’s 28th annual Turkey Trot.

The Refurb Project of the Sarasota Technology Users Group has donated more than 25,000 refurbished computers to individuals and organizations in need throughout the community.
