The Pines of Sarasota Foundation recently received a property donation appraised at more than $1 million from long-time Sarasota resident Bob Waechter.

The Hermitage Artist Retreat raised more than $450,000 at its 2025 Artful Lobster event, with funds supporting artists from around the world in the fields of music, theater, visual art, literature, dance, and more.

Gulf Coast Community Foundation donors recently contributed $233,000 in just two days to support All Faiths Food Bank following recent cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. 

Hugh Culverhouse Jr. recently donated $100,000 to All Faiths Food Bank as the food bank continues serving families still recovering from the 43-day government shutdown.

Church of the Redeemer in downtown Sarasota also partnered with Culverhouse Jr. to establish the Culverhouse Benevolence Fund to help those in the parish and wider Sarasota community who are facing economic hardships because of the government shutdown. The fund was formed with a $200,000 matching gift from Culverhouse.

M/I Homes recently announced a $141,000 donation to Pelotonia, a nonprofit organization committed to funding life-saving cancer research. The funds were raised through the sale of a specially designated benefit home in the Sweetwater at Lakewood Ranch community.

Laurel Civic Association, Inc. received a $60,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support its Youth Empowerment Afterschool Academic Program.

Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the Bishop-Parker Foundation to complete repairs caused by Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Milton. The grant will allow the organization to offer private tours of its sanctuary, which houses 181 animals among 26 species. 

The Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) Realtors Charitable Foundation recently awarded $45,000 in community grants to nine nonprofit organizations that strengthen housing, shelter, and community well-being across Sarasota and Manatee counties: the American Red Cross, Freedom Houses,  Everyday Blessings, Inc., Habitat for Humanity Sarasota, Manatee Children’s Services, Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC), Second Heart Homes,
The Crossings Ministries, and Turning Points. 

The Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation (SAHP) has announced that its Resilient Roots initiative is now fully funded thanks to a $30,000 collaborative investment from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and the Newtown Community Redevelopment Agency.

 Everyday Blessings Inc. recently received a $10,000 grant from the Doris Hochmuth Children's Fund and the Joseph F. Irace and Barbara A. Irace Fund I at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support its Springboard Program, an initiative providing safe, stable housing and life-skills support for young adults aging out of foster care or experiencing homelessness.

 A grant of $8,000 from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County will help JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation fund patients' transportation to diagnostic testing and out-of-pocket expenses associated with testing, seizure alert devices and access to twice-monthly virtual support groups.  

The Perlman Music Program Suncoast recently received a $7,500 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to strengthen marketing efforts throughout the season. 

The Jazz Club of Sarasota has received a $7,500 grant from the Lola G. Hanna Fund at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support ongoing capacity-building efforts
