Community Foundation of Sarasota County Names Jessica Muroff New President, CEO

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County announced today that Jessica Muroff will be its next president and CEO. Muroff, who was selected after an national search, will officially step into the position on Jan. 20, 2026; she succeeds Roxie Jerde, whose retired after 14 years as the foundation's president and CEO.
Muroff has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit, philanthropic and business sectors, most recently as chief executive officer of United Way Suncoast, which serves Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto counties., where she oversaw $51 million in fiscal assets. Prior to joining United Way Suncoast, she was chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of West Central Florida.
"I look forward to building on the Community Foundation’s many strengths and partnerships while working alongside our community to develop innovative solutions to the region’s ever-evolving challenges,” Muroff said in a statement.
“Jessica’s career has been grounded in community and strong values,” Community Foundation of Sarasota County board chair Paul Hudson, who's also been acting as the foundation's interim CEO, said in a press release. “Her expertise, connections throughout the region and reputation for innovation position Jessica well to usher our foundation into an era of new possibilities.”
Over the last 15 years, the Community Foundation has grown assets under management from $190 million in charitable dollars to more than $600 million and is forecast to double to more than $1 billion over the next decade. Muroff will be charged with developing and executing these efforts. She'll be the third leader of the Community Foundation, which was established in 1979 by the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council to connect donors with nonprofit organizations, after Jerde and Stewart Stearns, who led the foundation from 1988 to 2010.
