All Faiths Food Bank serves more than 80,000 people in Sarasota and DeSoto counties each year, a shocking number in an affluent community like ours. But as the cost of food, housing and childcare goes up—it takes $104,000 for a Sarasota family of four to meet basic needs––so does the threat of food insecurity. An increasing number of local families “are one blown tire away from not being able to pay their rent—forget saving or having any buffer,” All Faiths CEO Nelle Miller says. “We’re here to help.”
