Barancik Foundation Awards $5.7 Million in Grants

The Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation recently awarded $5.7 million in grants to support early education and youth development, affordable housing, mental health services, and more. The largest grants are $1 million to early learning provider Forty Carrots Family Center for expansion of its mental health and parenting education services and $900,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties to support key operational needs and fund scholarships for Club members. Other grants include $444,869 to Resilient Retreat; $225,000 to the Boxser Diversity Initiative; $150,000 to Manasota ASALH; and $50,000 to the Climate Adaptation Center.
Arts Advocates has awarded $55,000 in scholarships to 10 local students for the 2024-2025 school year. The recipients are John Quigley, Maria Medina Almaguer, Hong Nguyen, Samantha Tanelli, Miracle Deveaux, Emmalee Bunnell, Noelle Prouty, Danae Tran and Lillian Fox.
Mothers Helping Mothers has received a $35,000 grant from the Bank of America Client Foundation which will be used to support its building expansion.
SimplyDwell Homes a recently donated nearly $6,000 to Booker High School for staff appreciation and student initiatives.
Neal Communities recently donated $5,000 as a Gold Star sponsor of Sarasota County Schools' Outstanding Volunteer Award event. The homebuilder also recently donated $2,000 to Sarasota Youth Orchestras.
