Palmer Ranch Holdings, Ltd. has promoted Justin Powell to the position of president. In this role, Powell will manage all operations and guide the company forward. Powell has spent 19 years at Palmer Ranch Holdings, starting as an analyst in 2004 and working his way up to vice-president. Before joining Palmer Ranch, he worked for Franklin Templeton Investments in St. Petersburg and HealthTrust LLC in Sarasota as a commercial real estate appraiser.

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens recently welcomed Dr. John L. Clark to its staff as a full-time research botanist. Affiliated with Selby Gardens as a research associate since 2009, Clark has spent his professional career discovering and documenting plant diversity. His work concentrates on the plant family Gesneriaceae, or gesneriads, an important focus of Selby Gardens’ botanical research and a notable component of its living plant collection.

Six University of South Florida researchers have been named as new Fellows by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. They are Jennifer M. Collins, professor of atmospheric and hydrospheric sciences; Richard Dembo, professor of social, economic and political sciences; David Himmelgreen, professor of anthropology; James W. Leahy, professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry; Donna J. Petersen, senior associate vice president and dean (public health); and Christina Richards, associate professor of biological sciences.

Art Center Sarasota recently announced that the organization has welcomed the architect and artist Javi Suárez to its board of directors.

Safe Children Coalition will honor four "Champions for Children" at its inaugural Giving Breakfast at Michael's On East next month. They are Michele Grimes, attorney, Williams Parker Attorneys at Law; Rick Oswald, senior vice-president, CMSA Architects; and Bobbie and Floyd Price, Guardian Angels of SW Florida.

Rise Above Performing Arts recently added Tony Award-winning producer Tyler Mount to its board of directors. Mount's Broadway an West End credits include Hadestown, Once on This Island, On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan, An American in Paris and ¡Viva Broadway! Hear Our Voices: Gloria Estefan Live! He is currently producing the United Kingdom tour of Dream Girls, which will return to Broadway in 2023.

Children First, Inc. has announced its slate of board leadership for 2023, including the addition of three new directors. They are Rev. Brock Leach, chair;  Keith G. Johnson, vice-chair; Elizabeth Stamoulis, treasurer and Lisa Giglio, secretary; Jacqueline Ray, chair emeritus. Other board members include Kenneth HughesRebecca M. LieberherRobert L.
