Donors of Distinction Awards $90,000 in Grants to Local Nonprofits

Plus, Regions Foundation awards $30,000 to CareerEdge and the Academy at Bradenton receives $15,000 from Bank of America to support adults with mental illness.

A $300,000 grant from the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation will allow the Hermitage Artist Retreat to provide essential support to artists in residence while allowing the organization to expand its team. The Hermitage recently launched searches for a managing director, artist alumni coordinator and more. The staff expansion is designed to support the organization’s artist impact in the region.

Donors of Distinction recently awarded a total of $90,000 in grants to 22 local nonprofits, ranging in amount from $2,000 to $5,000. The recipients are BBBS of Sun Coast, Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, Easterseals, Meals on Wheels, Project Pride, Sertoma Kids, Blaze of Hope, Bridge A Life, SMART Riders, Faces of Accomplishment, The Twig Cares, Child Protection Center, Satchel's Last Resort, St. Jude's, Tidewell Foundation, Dancing with Clayton, NAMI, SPARCC, Operation Warrior, Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center, Mothers Helping Mothers and The Mark Wandall Foundation

The Regions Foundation, a nonprofit organization funded primarily by Regions Bank, awarded $30,000 to workforce development efforts led by the Sarasota Chamber’s CareerEdge Funders Collaborative. Specifically, the grant from the Regions Foundation will support the Bridges to Careers initiative.

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe was recently awarded a grant of $25,000 from The Exchange, in support of its 2022-2023 theater season.

Bank of America has awarded $15,000 to the Academy at Bradenton to support its new workforce development campus for Manatee County residents. The campus will help fill the gap in vocational and career needs of adults living with serious mental illnesses and help bring awareness to the employment barriers these individuals face.

Neal Communities donated $15,000 to Venice MainStreet to sponsor its Friday night concert series and marketing efforts.

The Perlman Music Program Suncoast (Perlman Suncoast) was awarded a $10,000 grant by The Exchange. These funds will help support outreach programs presented by Perlman Suncoast throughout the 2022-2023 Season: PMP Alumni: In Schools, PMP Alumni: Around Town, Super Strings and the annual Celebration Concert.
