The new program, eComment, allows people to indicate whether they support or oppose items on the commission's agenda and leave comments.

The City of Sarasota recently launched a new system intended to make it easier for people to share their thoughts on matters coming before the City Commission. Through the program, which is called eComment, people can indicate whether they support or oppose items on the commission's agenda, and leave comments.

To access the system, click here to find a list of upcoming public meetings. To read the specific details of what will be discussed at a meeting, click "Agenda," and to then share your thoughts, click "eComment." The system has been activated for meetings beginning on Tuesday, July 6, and afterward. Online comments will be accepted until 72 hours before the meeting begins. The comments will become part of the city's official public record, and will be sent to city commissioners.
