Shepard "Shep" Englander has been named chief executive officer of the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee, effective Sept. 1, 2021. Englander will succeed Howard Tevlowitz, who is retiring after 20 years as the federation's CEO.
Prior to joining the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee, Englander was CEO of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati for 16 years. He also served as vice-president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and associate director for government relations at the Jewish Federations of North America, and practiced law in Washington, D.C. He earned a juris doctor from Northeastern University School of Law and is a graduate of Tufts University.
