Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast today announced Candy Brooks has been selected as the 2021 Florida Big Sister of the Year. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast places local youth with in meaningful, enduring, professionally supported mentoring relationships with adult volunteers who defend their potential and help them achieve their biggest possible futures. Over the past year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast has served over 1,800 youth across a 10-county footprint. Brooks, of Englewood, has mentored her "little sister" Aaliyah since 2017. The pair share a love of kayaking, fishing, walks on the beach and dining out.
