Gov. Ron DeSantis this week announced the appointment of John Horne to the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota District board of trustees. Horne, of Bradenton, is the president of the Anna Maria Oyster Bar, which he’s operated since 1996. He is a member of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, Leadership Florida and the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. He earned his bachelor’s degree in administrative management from Clemson University. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
