Bank of America has named Women's Resource Center (WRC) one of its "Neighborhood Champions." The bank's Neighborhood Champions program supports the role nonprofit leaders play in advancing economic mobility and is an extension of the bank’s Neighborhood Builders philanthropic initiative.

As part of the program, WRC will receive $50,000 in grant support and an opportunity for engagement in virtual leadership training delivered by experts in the nonprofit sector. For years, the organization has partnered with Bank of America to deploy programs like Project UpLift, which empowers WRC’s clients with the skills to be financially and emotionally self-sufficient, as well as monthly Better Money Habits classes through the "Ask A Banker" program.

In addition to WRC, the bank has this year provided a total of $461,000 in funding to 25 local nonprofits.
