The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a virtual meeting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to provide the local community with an overview of the upcoming U.S. 41-Gulfstream Avenue roundabout construction project, which could begin as early as January.

Pre-construction work includes surveying the area and building a bypass road adjacent to the bayfront where the Unconditional Surrender statue currently stands. (The statue will be relocated.) According to FDOT, lane closures and the actual roundabout construction will begin after season in early April. Those wishing to attend the live virtual presentation will need to register in advance.  Learn more about the project and virtual meeting here. The presentation will be available on the project website following the meeting.
