All Faiths Food Bank Receives $237,000 in Donations

The funds will be used for the food bank's vehicles and veteran, children and Mobile Pantry programs.

All Faiths Food Bank recently received $237,000 in grants and support from the following organizations:

$59,583 from Edward Henry Lyman Charitable Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County in support of the maintenance, repair and general costs of the Food Bank’s fleet of vehicles

$73,000 from Share Our Strength in support of the Backpack and School Pantry programs in DeSoto County

$105,000 from The Stone Foundation in support of the Mobile Farm Market, Backpack and veteran’s assistance programs

The funds will be used in support of the Food Bank’s vehicles; its Backpack program, which provides students with bags of nutritious snacks; School Pantries, which provide fresh produce, meats and groceries to families in need at schools; and Mobile Pantries, including Mobile Farm Markets which provide access to fresh produce, meats and groceries to those in need.
