Joint replacement specialist and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Alan Valadie was recently honored with Blake Medical Center’s 2020 Doctor of the Year award for the second time. Since the awards’ inception in 1983, Valadie is the only physician to receive the recognition twice. He first won the award in 2013.

Valadie joined Coastal Orthopedics in 1996. Since then, he has also been a part of the medical staff at Blake Medical Center. He joined Blake Medical Center’s board of trustees in 2017, and remains an active member. From 2010-16, he served on the hospital’s medical executive committee and as medical director of the hospital’s Joint Replacement and Spine Institute for the last 12 years.
