In an email to its congregations Wednesday, rabbis from Temple Emanu-El and Temple Sinai announced that both temples were vandalized on Tuesday, July 14. At Temple Emanu-El, anti-Semitic markings covered the southern side of the buildings, where employees enter. At Temple Sinai, the messages were on all exterior walls, including where children enter each day for summer camp.

The temples are working with local law enforcement and the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee to identify the perpetrator of both acts; through reviewing security footage, it is believed that he is the same man who vandalized Temple Emanu-El three months ago. Federation leadership adds that it has been in touch with every brick-and-mortar Jewish institution in the community today to review security needs and determine where best to focus resources.
