The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and Enterprise Florida recently awarded a $201,500 grant to Manatee Technical College to support the school's advanced manufacturing and production workforce training program. Participants in the program "will learn the tools, materials and processes of automation technology and its application in production environments, including manufacturing, engineering and robotics," according to the college's description. The grant was one of 33 given through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund. Winning grants totaled $85 million.
