Gender Wage Gap to Be Discussed Friday

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota is hosting a panel discussion focused on the wage gap between men and women.

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota is hosting a panel discussion focused on the wage gap between men and women from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, in Building 300, Room 307 of the college's Venice campus, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice. According to a 2015 Pew Research Center analysis, women earned 83 percent compared to their male counterparts working the same job. Panel members will include Stephanie Deiter, the director of human resources at SKY Family YMCA; Jennifer Fowler-Hermes, an attorney with Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen; Christine Sensenig, a labor and employment attorney at Hultman Sensenig + Joshi, P.A.; and Kristen Zaborski, an assistant professor of economics at State College. The event is free and open to the public.
