The University of South Florida, along with the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida, was recently ranked among the top 50 universities worldwide for the number of U.S. patents it was granted in 2016. The list was compiled by the National Academy of Inventors and the Intellectual Property Owners Association. The University of South Florida ranked No. 11 in the list, with 114 patents.
