The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee recently opened a new Office of Research and appointed full-time research administrator Sandy Justice. In the newly created staff position, Justice will appeal to public and private organizations to support a variety of campus needs, primarily assisting faculty on research funding requests but also facilitating large requests for technology, laboratory equipment and long-term infrastructure. Previously, research had been coordinated at the college-level by college faculty. Justice has held similar administrative research positions elsewhere, including at the university's Center for Urban Transportation Research and College of Arts & Sciences and the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.
