County Allocates $21.2 Million for Braves Spring Training Facility

The Sarasota County Commission on Tuesday approved a proposal to allocate $21.2 million in Tourist Development Tax revenues to help fund the construction of a new spring training stadium for the Atlanta Braves in south county.

The Sarasota County Commission on Tuesday approved a proposal to allocate $21.2 million in Tourist Development Tax revenues to help fund the construction of a new spring training stadium for the Atlanta Braves in south county. The new facility will include 6,500 fixed seats and the estimated project cost is $75.4 million. The deal is a public-private partnership between Sarasota County, the City of North Port, the Braves and the developers behind the West Villages.
