Sarasota County Schools recently won the top award among large school districts in the 2017 Florida FAFSA Challenge, a campaign to encourage more high school seniors to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (aka FAFSA) form. Almost 46 percent percent of Sarasota County high school seniors competed the form this year, a 9.1 percent increase over last year. The effort was led by the Talent4Tomorrow Partnership, a collaboration between CareerEdge Funders Collaborative, the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Sarasota County Schools, The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, UnidosNow and United Way Suncoast.
