The Sarasota YMCA recently named Laura Gilbert as the organization's president and chief executive officer. She has served as the interim president and CEO since last October. Gilbert will continue to guide operations for the Y while planning for future growth. As a 20-year employee of the Sarasota YMCA, Gilbert has served in many capacities, including director of contracts and vice president of operations. She is the first woman to lead the organization in this role in its 71-year history.
