The Florida Department of Transportation on Tuesday updated the Sarasota and Manatee county commissions on the progress of construction of the new "diverging diamond" interchange at University Parkway and I-75. The department outlined completed steps in the construction process and those still outstanding, including nighttime paving and the construction and installation of drainage systems, lighting, the I-75 sound barrier, storm drains and medians. The estimated completion date is this fall; the total project will cost $74.5 million.
