Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Willis Smith Construction on Wednesday broke ground on the hospital's new Newtown Internal Medical Practice, to be located at 1825 Dr. Martin Luther King Way, Sarasota. The single-story, 6,700-square-foot facility will include up to 15 exam rooms. Construction is scheduled to begin in January and is expected to be completed next summer. The facility will be a combined practice staffed by resident physicians training under the direct supervision of internal medicine physicians on the faculty of Florida State University College of Medicine’s Internal Medicine Residency Program at Sarasota Memorial and will offer primary and preventative care.
