The retail company Bealls, headquartered in Bradenton, was recognized on Wednesday by the state of Florida for being an "exceptional" employer of individuals with disabilities. The company was one of 10 given the honor. Bealls has employed 60 individuals with disabilities over the past few years and works with job coaches who come into its stores to work with clients who are Bealls employees. Bealls operates more than 530 retail store sites across the southern and eastern United States, with annual sales of more than $1 billion.
