The Sarasota County Film & Entertainment Office is hosting an entertainment industry networking mixer with comics creator, writer, artist and designer Bob Layton from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Ringling College of Art Design's Academic Center, 2700 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Layton is perhaps best known for reinventing the Iron Man comic in the late 1970s. Tickets to the mixer cost $12; click here to register.
