Sarasota Memorial Health Care System and the National Alliance on Mental Illness are partnering to host a free community forum on mental illness from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 23, at the hospital's Waldemere Auditorium, 1700 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. The panel will include psychiatrist Dr. Parlane Reid; Linda Stone, the CEO of Community Health Centers of Sarasota County, Inc.; teacher and mentor Suzan Brodsky; psychiatrist Dr. Rajiv Tandon and Lt. Charles Kenniff of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. The goal of the forum is to increase awareness of local mental illness resources and explore new solutions to address the needs of those who live with mental illness.
