The Sarasota Tiger Bay Club will host a lunchtime debate between the two candidates for Sarasota Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller on Thursday, July 21, at Michael's on East, 1212 S. East Ave., Sarasota. Incumbent clerk Karen Rushing, a Republican, will appear alongside Democrat Todd Barton, a former clerk of courts in California, Arizona and Michigan. Registration for the luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m.; the debate begins at noon. Tickets are $23 for Tiger Bay members and $28 for non-members.
