The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently released an interactive online infographic with 2015 statistics on the characteristics of new single-family homes. The page includes data on square footage, air-conditioning and heating systems, number of bedrooms and bathrooms and much more. The infographic shows that the percentage of new homes in the South that are 4,000 square feet or larger has almost tripled since 1999, while the percentage of homes less than 1,400 square feet has fallen by more than half. Half of all new homes in the South now contain four or more bedrooms, compared to just 21 percent in 1973. View the complete infographic and data here.
