Sarasota County yesterday celebrated the grand opening of Fire Station No. 12, located at 3110 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota. The two-story fire station will serve the Bee Ridge Road area. It is one of four new county fire stations that are replacing outdated facilities. The new station is designed to withstand wind loads of 150-plus miles per hour. It is also poised to achieve LEED certification.
