At a rehearsal of Sarasota Ballet’s The Secret Garden, a world premiere that takes the stage in mid-August, John Pirman sketched several dancers on a break. “Seeing them in repose, you can almost imagine they’re ordinary people like you and me,” he says. “Then they get on their feet and perform and you realize how extraordinary they are.”
