St. Armands Mansion Sold for $11 Million
One of the most expensive homes in Sarasota recently sold for $11 million. Casa del Carnevale, located on St. Armands Key, is a 1936, five-bedroom, six-bath home built in 1936. The 10,000-square-foot home, which has major circus cachet, was listed for 63 days before going under contract and sold on Dec. 30. The original asking price was $12.75 million. Lisa Rooks Morris of Premier Sotheby's International Realty was the selling agent.
The home includes 171 feet of waterfront property overlooking the bay, mosaic artwork and a Roman-style pool. It was owned by Charles Leigh, co-founder of Lavoris Chemical Company, and is listed on the national historic registry.
