Only in Sarasota: Blackburn Point Bridge
It's one of the few remaining swing bridges in Florida.
One of the few remaining swing bridges in Florida, the one-lane Blackburn Point Bridge was built in 1926 in Ohio and shipped to its location on the Intracoastal Waterway at the north entrance of Casey Key. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, it’s still operated by a bridge tender, who mechanically spins the bridge on its central axis to let tall boats pass.
