The Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations is holding a discussion about the rowing facility at Nathan Benderson Park and concerns about public funding for such projects and the wisdom of public-private partnerships. The discussion will be led by Pat Rounds and Bill Zoller. Invitees include Stephen Rodriguez of the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Association, the nonprofit that manages the park; Fredrick Piccolo of the Nathan Benderson Park Foundation; and Dennis Maley, editor of The Bradenton Times. The meeting begins with social time at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8; the panel will begin at 7. The gathering takes place at the Sarasota Garden Club, 1131 Boulevard of the Arts, Sarasota.
