Sarasota's Seibert Architects recently won an American Institute of Architects Florida/Caribbean Merit Award of Excellence for Historic Preservation and Restoration for its work on Boca Grande's Johann Fust Community Library. Michael Epstein served as project designer and architect for the project and Pam Holladay acted as interior designer. The original library was built in 1950. Seibert's work included repairing and restoring existing elements, materials and finishes, removing barriers and providing accessibility features, repurposing existing spaces to serve new library functions and providing the mechanical and electrical infrastructure needed for a modern library.
