An 8,031-square-foot waterfront residence—11,424 square feet when accounting for the outdoor spaces, including a 900-square-foot rooftop terrace (the only permitted one on Bird Key) that offers panorama views up and down the coast—sold for $5.25 million in late September after an original list price of $5,495,000, making it September’s top residential real estate sale in Sarasota County.

The five-bedroom home at 204 Bird Key Drive was built in 2008 in collaboration with Tim Seibert Architects and an unnamed New York designer. Among the custom finishes are hand-woven wallcoverings and finely sculpted moldings, a 700-bottle wine room, a media room and separate water-view gym. There’s a four-car garage.

Kim Ogilvie was the listing agent; Melba Jimenez was the selling agent; both are with Michael Saunders & Company.
