Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Suncoast Blood Centers announced today that Sarasota Memorial is seeing a "slight uptick" in hospitalizations of people with COVID-19 and that the local supply of convalescent plasma that can help treat patients is critically low.  Both organizations are urging recovered COVID-19 patients—as well as those who think they may have had the virus but were not tested for it—to visit Suncoast Blood Centers for a serological test. Serological tests help determine whether a person has the antibodies present to help replenish the community's decreasing supply of convalescent plasma.
