Doctors Hospital of Sarasota and Venice Regional Bayfront Health have announced that both hospitals will resume all elective procedures on May 4, per Gov. Ron DeSantis' announcement of the state reopening plan  earlier this week. Both hospitals say numerous precautions have been put in place for COVID-19 testing, infection prevention, access control, social distancing and patient flow to maintain a safe environment of care. Sarasota Memorial Hospital announced last week that it will also resume elective procedures effective May 4.
