Tidewell Hospice has opened a Community Grief Hotline to help the community cope with the effects of COVID-19. Grief support, spiritual support and social support assistance are all available; residents may call (855) 930-HOPE or (941) 556-HOPE to speak to a Tidewell grief counselor, social worker or chaplain. The hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is also available to Spanish-speaking callers. The organization stresses that it is not a crisis hotline, but a support line for those who need help dealing with current challenges; for psychiatric or medical emergencies, call 911.
