Restaurants Have Begun Selling Groceries and Paper Goods, Too

Running out of milk, eggs or even toilet paper? These restaurants may be able to help you out.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, local restaurants and national chains alike have begun offering grocery items and paper products to customers, along with their regular menu items. If you encounter empty store shelves, consider ordering from these restaurants, or some of the many others in the area, instead:

California Pizza Kitchen opened what it's calling its CPK Market this week to provide meal kits and fresh grocery items. Choose from taco and salad kits, breads and more or shop individual food and beverage choices. Milk, eggs, meat, fruits, veggies and dry goods will be sold, along with select wine and beer. Place an order online or call the California Pizza Kitchen at 192 N. Cattlemen Road, Sarasota, at (941) 203-6966.

Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant on Longboat Key is selling groceries alongside takeout orders. Shop essential items like bread, milk, cheese and meat, or purchase toilet paper from the restaurant's online grocery list. Call (941) 383-2391 once you arrive for curbside pickup. Mar Vista is located at 760 Broadway St., Longboat Key.

Pier 22 in Bradenton and Grove in Lakewood Ranch have created an online grocery market for customers to select items for curbside pickup. Market items include dairy, meats, frozen meals, canned and dry goods and supplies like bleach and toilet paper. Paper plates, cups and napkins are also available. After ordering, choose your desired location and time slot for pickup. Order by 7 p.m. for pickup the next day. Pier 22 is located at 1200 First Ave. W., Bradenton. Grove is located at 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch.

Five-O Donut Co. is keeping its two locations open for curbside pickup, delivery and text-in-line options, allowing customers to text orders and skip interaction. Grocery items like eggs, butter, paper towels and toilet paper will be sold along with regular menu items. Easter doughnut DIY kits, complete with six doughnuts and decorations, are also being sold now. Duval's is also getting into the grocery game, offering dairy, cheese, pasta, meat and bread, plus toilet paper, paper towels, bleach and soap. The restaurant is offering free delivery in three days with a minimum $50 order that includes one of the restaurant's dishes. A $5 delivery fee will be applied to orders of less than $50.
