Here's a Handy List of You-Pick Farms to Visit Right Now

Spring in Florida means you-pick produce, and from blueberries to flowers, these family-run farms offer fresh produce, scenic views and a taste of local tradition.

Springtime in Florida brings a bounty of fresh produce, and there's no better way to enjoy it than by visiting the area's you-pick farms. From strawberries and blueberries to sunflowers and vegetables, local farms invite families and food enthusiasts alike to experience the joy of harvesting their own seasonal delights. Many also offer kid-friendly activities, like playgrounds and animal-petting areas,  and sell homemade goods like jams, jellies, honey and fresh-baked treats. (Since Mother Nature is in charge, just be sure to call or check the farms' social pages for updates before heading out so you can ensure a bountiful visit.)

Hunsader Farms

5500 C.R. 675, Bradenton, (941) 322-2168. Open September through early June, Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hunsader Farms is a family-owned and known for its you-pick produce, petting zoo, playgrounds and seasonal events like the fall Pumpkin Festival. Established in 1967, it has become a popular agrotourism destination, offering fresh fruits and vegetables, a country store and activities for all ages. You-pick always closes one hour before the produce market.

Strawberry Passion/Passion Organics

9491 Rockhill Road, Thonotosassa; (813) 608-2697; open Friday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Up the road in Thonotosassa, Passion Organics Farm is a family-owned, certified organic farm known for its sweet, pesticide-free strawberries and seasonal produce. Visitors can enjoy you-Pick experiences for strawberries and flowers and purchase freshly harvested vegetables like onions, tomatoes and lettuce. The farm also features a "shake shack" with strawberry shakes and shortcakes (including vegan options). There are also friendly farm animals and EBT cards through Feeding Florida are accepted.

All Blueberries, LLC

3151 SW Gator Trail, Arcadia, (863) 990-1739. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until sundown, and Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until sundown.

Arcadia's All Blueberries, LLC, is a family-owned you-pick blueberry farm that was established in 2012 and offers visitors the opportunity to handpick fresh blueberries during the harvest season (typically mid-April through the end of May). You can also buy pre-picked blueberries at $3 per pound with a day's notice. 

Jennings Road Farm

24310 Jennings Road, Myakka City. Open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday through mid- to late May.

Jennings Road Farm is a family-run operation owned by David Payne and his wife Tatiana Pashnina. The couple, who transformed an old junkyard into a working farm, has expanded their agricultural endeavors over the years, and in 2024, they acquired mature blueberry plants from a closing farm, marking their first season of blueberry production this year. You can buy pre-picked blueberries at $7 per pound. Beyond blueberries, Jennings Road Farm also raises hogs and steers. 

K Berry Farm

3440 Pearce St., Arcadia, (863) 444-5793. Open March through May on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Formerly known as Maassen's Berry Patch, this farm spans 8 acres and features multiple types of blueberries, ensuring a plentiful harvest throughout the season. Visitors get picking containers, free water to drink and can sit at picnic tables for a comfortable outing while gorging on their haul. K Berry Farm is also affiliated with Jersey Acres Farm Market, located just 1.5 miles west of the blueberry field at 5029 Highway 72, which offers a variety of local produce.

Lyna Berry Farms

11920 Neal Road, Lithia, (813) 728-9132. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lithia's Lyna Berry Farms is a family-owned you-pick blueberry farm founded by Lyna Knight and Susan Weicherding. The duo, who transitioned to farming from corporate careers, established the farm in 2005, starting with a small field and later expanding by acquiring an additional 20 acres nearby. Lyna Berry Farms offers a hands-on blueberry picking experience during the harvest season, typically April and May. 

BellaBlue Berry Farm & Winery

43405 S.R. 64 East, Myakka, (727) 364-4899. For the most current information on you-pick hours and offerings, check BellaBlue's Facebook page.

This Myakka farm is family-owned and known for its quality, locally grown blueberries. Now in its 13th year, the farm offers seasonal you-pick opportunities, allowing visitors to harvest their own berries during the spring season, typically from March through May. BellaBlue also operates a winery that produces blueberry wines in varieties ranging from almost dry to sweet, all made from their own fruit. Visitors can enjoy a covered picnic area and a seasonal farm stand, too.
