Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Sarasota

From block parties to green beer, we’ve found some great ways to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day.

Whether you have Irish roots that run as deep as the Celtic Sea or not, everyone loves a good St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Who doesn’t enjoy corned beef and cabbage, an ice cold pint and some good music? Here's our list of fun St. Paddy’s day happenings in the area.

McGrath's Irish Ale House

Out in Lakewood Ranch, McGrath’s is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day celebration with a menu of traditional dishes and a lineup of activities, including games and entertainment for the kiddos and raffles and giveaways for the adults. Local Irish dance schools will be performing along with Pati’O Furinture, Celt-ish and Celtic Conundrum. 

Shamrock Pub

After a decade and a half, Shamrock Pub is still rocking the block with its annual St. Patrick’s party. It's an evening of open-air fun with music, food and beer. Look forward to performances by Irish dancers Sassy Lassies and bagpiper William Howard. The event will support the Sarasota City Soccer Club.

Clancy’s Irish Sports Bar & Grill

For 21-and-up fun, head to Clancy’s Irish Sports Bar & Pub in Bradenton. Take full advantage of traditional Irish foods and grab an order of shepherd's pie or corned beef and cabbage to go with your pint. The Eric Von Band will be performing a three-hour set, followed by a performance by the Irish Dance Academy of Sarasota. 

Lynches Pub & Grub

Take a trip to St. Armands Circle to celebrate at Lynches Pub & Grub with a tall pint of green beer. You can also choose from a selection of more than 80 Irish whiskeys. Menu items include corned beef and hash, Irish stew and Irish egg rolls. Live music will be brought to you by the Jacobites and the GoodBye Eddie Band.

Gecko’s Grill & Pub

11 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday, March 17, multiple locations,

Gecko’s Grill & Pub will be offering an exclusive menu for St. Paddy’s Day. Choose between shepherd's pie, Irish lamb stew and corned beef and cabbage made with locally grown potatoes and cabbage provided by Honeyside Farms and Jones Potato Farm, Inc. Can’t decide? Go with the St. Patrick’s Day Platter, which features all three options.

Freckled Fin Irish Pub

Fresh food, a stocked bar, a beachy atmosphere and live music—what more could you ask for? Freckled Fin Irish Pub will serve a menu that includes poutine, shepherd’s totties and St. Patrick’s Day pizza. Enjoy live music from Josh Gilton from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Acoustic Thunder from 6 to 10 p.m. The band plays all requests, so come with a list of your favorite tunes.

Pub 32

Irish-owned and -operated, if there’s one thing Pub 32 knows, it's how to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day. Head there for more than 12 hours of nonstop outdoor festivities. In addition to a performance by the Irish Dance Academy of Sarasota, musical acts like the Lost Boys and the Prodigal Sons will be playing. Make sure you leave home in your best green outfit, so you stand a chance at winning the best dressed contest. Classic Irish food—corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew, bangers and mash, and vegetarian curry—will be available at the site.

Meadows Farmers Market

For those who aren't ready for the festivities to end just yet, a trip to the Meadows Farmers Market this Sunday is a must. Throw on your favorite green outfit and enjoy an afternoon of fun for the family (dogs included), with music, art and food.
